This was a Parish and Heimbecker
elevator office in Rockyford. The Railroad came
to Rockyford in 1913 at which time this building
was on site along with the Parish and Heimbecker
elevator.
|
|
The
office is covered with metal siding to lessen the
risk of fire to the office and surrounding
buildings. This helped ensure the safe keeping of
records as well. The Bottle House and Collection
was purchased by the Rockyford History Book Club
in August 1994 and donated to the Village of
Rockyford. |

Chrissie
Pedersen was born December 20, 1911 approximately
six miles south of Rockyford. Chrissie has lived
in the area all her life. She started collecting
bottles around 1976. One of the areas Chrissie
cultivated to collect her bottles were disposal
sites. |
|
Thanks
to her a part of our history has been preserved.
The Bottle House and Collection was opened to the
public in May 1995. |
