Travel Directions:
From Hwy 1 (Trans-Canada Hwy), take Exit 169 South. Proceed south on Range Road 33 (181 St.) 2.4 km to intersection of Springbank Road. The building is on the NE corner of the intersection, attached to Springbank Community High School.

Remarks:
The motel interior was filmed on the same sound stage that was used for the tent interior: a curling rink west of Calgary. Aside from obvious privacy advantages, a sound stage affords opportunities for lighting, camera placement, and audio recording which are not feasible, for instance, in an actual motel room.

A second, but decided, advantage of this filming location was that it did not stink “of semen and smoke and sweat and whiskey, of old carpet and sour hay, saddle leather, shit, and cheap soap.” [1]
